Ronell Romo-Rios * 2010 Cheer Coordinator
Dear Lion Family,
I am honored to have accepted this position as your La Habra Pop Warner Cheer Coordinator. As your Cheer Coordinator I plan on bringing this program to what it used to be, a very successful competitive cheer program.
In 1998, I moved to La Habra from Long Beach to find a home for me and my children, Dominik and Diamond. I wanted to meet new people and establish myself in this little city, located in the small north corner of Orange County. Once I settled down, I realized that there were sign-ups for football and cheer, so I made the decision to register my children. Not knowing what to expect, I decided to become the Cheer Mom for the Football team under the Head Coach of Richard Currie. Even though that was a learning experience, I decided to register my children and volunteered to be the Cheer mom every year after that. I worked along side reputable Head Coaches, Richard Currie, Bill Fulbright and Randy Atanay. Until 2004, I said good bye to the league due to my children going to the next level, High School. That is when I realized that La Habra Football and Cheer is not only a team, it’s a family.
Even though I may not have a child in the league, I am still actively involved with my daughters cheer activities. My daughter was on the competition cheer squad at Sonora High School for two years. And I made the decision to take her cheer skills to the next level and now she is in a competitive all star cheer squad.
I am originally from Hawaii and one of my life time goals was to master the beautiful dance of authentic Hula and perform. Not only do I perform Hula, I also compete in Hula competitions from Southern California throughout Northern California with my Hula sisters. My next goal is a tough one but will be accomplished and that is to represent my Hula Studio as the soloist and compete.
I want to take my competitive skills that I have acquired to the La Habra Lions Cheer program. This is going to be a challenge for me and I am willing to take on this challenge. With the help of my fellow La Habra Pop Warner Board Members I am sure this will be a successful year.
I wanted to say thank you for choosing me for the next two years as your Cheer Coordinator and welcoming me back into the La Habra Lions Family.
Love and Aloha,
Ronell Romo-Rios
